Langtang Valley Trek

Langtang valley trek is one of the popular and frequently organized trekking packages in Langtang region. This valley is nestled between Langtang Lirung (7,246 m) and Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m) peak. Langtang valley trekking is the nearest trekking destinations from Kathmandu valley, located approximately 130 km away from Kathmandu valley at Nepal and Tibet (China) border. During the trek, you will be fascinated with amazing views the mountains primarily of Langtang Lirung (7,245 m) the highest peaks in the area and a number of small peaks to the south Chimse Danda (ridge), Ganjala Pass (5,122 m), Jugal Himal and Dorje Lakpa (6989 m).

Langtang valley trek begins with short drive from Kathmandu to Dhunchhe, ends at Kyanjin gompa(3784m). alongside of Trisuli River and Trishuli Bazaar, and continues to Syabrubensi, the beautiful village of Tamang ethnic communities The majority of people living in this area are Tamang peoples whose religious practices, language and dress are much more similar to Tibetans and Sherpa. Birds and botanical life are equally impressive, all set against the backdrop of the magnificent Himalaya. The vegetation found here is alpine and in high altitudes lays alpine pastures. Trekking in Langtang is best during spring and autumn but it can be done on all seasons except on mid winter.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, pick up from airport on private/tourist vehicles´ and transfer to hotel of your choice and rest.

Day 08: Trek to lama hotel (2470m) which takes around 5 6 hours overnight at camp or tea house.
Day 09: Trek to syabrubesi and overnight stay at good Hotel.
Day 10: Drive Back to Kathmandu via trishuli kakani road which takes 6 8 hours. Free in evening for personal activities and shopping around Thamel.
Day 11: Departure to International airport or continue your stay and programs in Nepal.

Day 04 :Trek to Lama Hotel (2470m). It takes 5 6 hours. Trail passes through forest of Pines, Oaks and Bamboos, along the Langtang River. Descend till Bamboo(1970m) lunch at Bamboo and direct ascend towards Rimche(2540m) lama hotel is the next settlement after Rimche.
Day 05 :Trekking to Langtang Village situated at altitude of 3470m. Trekking to Langtang Valley takes about 6 7 hours. Langtang is a small village of tamang community with good amount of lodges and tea houses. Uphill for first two hours on forest of Rhododendrons, bamboos, giant firs and pines trees till Riverside(2769m) and mostly gentle via high grassland and pastures until Langtang.
Day 06 :3 hours trek to Kyanjin Gompa at the altitude of 3784m. Kyanjin is a tiny Monastery village at foots of Langtang lirung. It is surrounded by Snowy peaks with breathtaking landscapes. It is the last human settlement and gateway to Yala peak, Lirung, Gangchenpo, etc. Hike to kyanjin ri(4773m) for best view of langtang lirung, lirung glacier, Gangchenpo,yala peak, Ganja la himal etc.
Day 07 :Hike to Langshisha(4200m) and langtang glaciers, packed breakfast at Langshisha. Trek back to kyanjin gompa. You can witness huge glaciers, beautiful Clear River, yak pastures, picturesque Mountain View of Dorje lakhpa, Ganja la range. You will enjoy easy walk along the river beach, base of mountain, magnificent background .The round trip takes around 6 7 hour walking duration excluding rest time.
Day 08 :Trek to lama hotel (2470m) which takes around 5 6 hours overnight at camp or tea house. Day walking is mostly descent all the way to lama Hotel through Langtang, Thangsyap, chamki, Ghodatabela etc.
Day 09 :Trek to syabrubesi and overnight stay at good Hotel. Syabrubesi is small buisness town of this region with fair population of Tamang, Brahmin, Chhetri, Sherpa, etc. It takes 4 6 hours.
Day 10 :Drive Back to Kathmandu via trishuli kakani road which takes 6 8 hours. Free in evening for personal activities and shopping around Thamel.
Day 11 :Departure to International airport or continue your stay and programs in Nepal.
