Langtang Gosaikunda Helambu trek is having numerous of Glaciers, the trekking to langtang is regarded to be trekking to a land of glaciers, where there are more than 70 glaciers of varying sizes. It is located at Nepal Tibet (China) border approximately 130 km away from Kathmandu offers you amazing views of the mountains primarily of Langtang Lirung (7,245 m) the highest peaks in the area and a number of small peaks to the south Chimse Danda (ridge), Ganjala Pass (5,122 m), Jugal Himal and Dorje Lakpa (6989 m). Because, Langtang valley is nestled between Langtang Lirung (7,246 m) and Dorje Lakpa (6,966 m) peak.
Besides mountain sceneries, you will also have an opportunity to explore the holy lake namely the Gosaignkunda located at 4,380 m height and the lifestyle, rituals, and culture of Tamang and Sherpa indigenous community residing alongside of the trail, the Buddhist Gompa (monasteries), Chorten, terraced farm field, steamy forest full of flora and fauna of Langtang National Park which is home of numerous of migratory birds, deer, monkeys Tahr and Pika. During the trek, you will be amazed with splendid waterfalls, gigantic boulders, unique culture, and lifestyles of Sherpa and Tamang ethnic groups, amazing views of the mountains, incredible landscapes, flora and fauna and many more.
Langtang Gosainkunda Helambu trekking begins with short drive (nearly 7 hours) to Dhunchhe, alongside of Trisuli River and Trishuli Bazaar, and continues to Syabrubensi, the beautiful village of Sherpa and Hyolmo ethnic communities. The trekking then continues to Kyangjin Gompa (3,740 m), visit around the local yak cheese factory and have a view of the glaciers and return back to Syabru village and make a short trip to Sing Gompa, a place where the holy lake Gosainkund is situated and the trekking passes the Laurebena Pass (4,610 m), and the trail continues south and reach at Helambu valley, after exploring all around, you will retrace back to Chisapani, subsequently return back to Kathmandu.
