Trip Description

Dudha Kunda cultural trek is one another newly opened trekking trips in Nepal. It is also famously quoted as pilgrimage trekking destination. Because, during the trekking you will explore the Dudha Kunda, the milky lake, the sacred lakes located at the Everest region. A belief is that if one makes it to the Dudh kunda and takes a dip into it, he or she is freed from the sin. Similarly, another belief is that if childless couple visits to this very sacred lake, they will have children. With these beliefs, many people even from different part of the country make it to it every year. The sacred lake, Dudh kunda is located on the lap of Mt. Nambur, which is regarded to be the home of the protective deity in Solukhumbu district. 

Dudha Kunda cultural trek can also be combined with the Pikey hill (4,100 m.) trekking. This hill is located at the highest point in Solukhumbu. It is the one of the perfect place from where you will have clear views of 8 the highest mountains above 8,000 meters, located in Nepal namely Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Kanchenjunga (8,586 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,516 m.), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m.), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201 m.)  and number of other peaks lying around the area. Besides exploring the amazing scenes and exploring the sacred milky lake, you will also spend time in the beautiful village of various ethnic groups and explore their unique culture, lifestyles namely of Sherpa, Khaling Rais, Tamangs, Magars, Sunuwar, Gurungs to name a few who are residing alongside of the trail.

Dudh kunda cultural trekking begins with one day drive from Kathmandu to Bhandar and then continues the trail through Goli Gompa and finally reach at Pikey hill (peak) and continues to Dudh Kunda, the lake located at the highest point in Solukhumbu region and making exploration around the trail continues to Phaplu airport and then you will fly back to Kathmandu.

  Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport and transfer Hotel  

Day 02:  Kathmandu to Shivalaya (Drive by bus)

Day 03: Shivalaya to Bhandanda

Day 04: Bhandanda to Sete

Day 05: Sete to Junbensi

Day 6: Junbensi to Ringma

Day 07: Ringma to Ankala

Day 08: Ankala to Rambug

Day 09: Rambug rest day sightseeing around Dhudkunda Lake

Day 10: Rambug to Thupthang Chiling

Day 11: Thupthang Chiling to Lanjura passes

Day 12: Lanjura pass to Bhandanda

Day 13: Bhandanda to Shivalaya

Day 14: Shivalaya to Kathmandu (Drive by bus)
