Trip Description

Chepang hill trek is the best known and most accessible trekking trails in Nepal located close to the Chitwan National park. Therefore, Chepang hill trekking trip can also be combined with jungle safari trip organized in Chitwan National Park, in Sauraha. This newly developed trip is a unique because you will be able to experience the unique cultural practices, rituals, lifestyles of Chepang, one of the indigenous communities in Nepal. They have their own distinct language and they lead semi nomadic life and perform shifting cultivation. Their do hunt the wild animals, forage for wild roots and bulbs and do fishing for survival. While having this trip you will be able to explore these vivid activities. Their settlements, unique styles of houses, customs are worth exploring. You will enjoy with their primitive culture, unique festival, as the trail leads you through the unexplored beautiful hillside of Chitwan and offers you a rare combination of cultural and sightseeing experience in lifetime. 


Chepang hill trekking begins with a short drive from Kathmandu to Kugdi Bazaar Hattibang, where you will have walk around the beautiful landscape and in the evening you will observe the cultural show. The next day you will walk through Jautesh Changa Dinglang, the Chepang village and spend a night there, you will chit chat with them, observe their performance and enjoy with their great hospitality. The following day you will hike to Siraichuri in order to have superb views of sunrise and sunset and continue hiking to Chisapani in order to have bird watching and spend a night at Chisapanitar Godi. Next day continue trekking down from Godi to Shaktikhor, where you will explore the Chepang museum, explore the bats´ cave and taste the bat´s meat and spend a night at Shaktikhor in the evening you will enjoy with the cultural performance of Chepang and Magar ethnic groups and the next day you will drive to Sauraha, Chitwan or return back to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.

Day 2: Driving from Kathmaqndu Hugdi, Trekking Hugdi Hattibang.

Day 03: Hattibang Jautesh Changa Dinglang Jyandala : Trekking from Hattibang Jautesh Changa Dinglang Jyandala. the villages on the way are pure Chepang settlements. Observing Chepang settlements and culture at Jyandala.

Day 04: Jyandala Siraichuli Chisapanitar Gadi : Trekking from Jyandala Siraichuli.Viewing mountains, sunrise or sunset at Siraichuli. Trekking from Siraichuli Chaisapanitar. Trekking from Chisapanitar Gadi. Observing historical fort at Gadi.

Day 05: Gadi Sharktikhor : Trekking down from Gadi Shaktikhor. Cultural experience at Shaktikhor. Visiting Chepang museum, Multiple Use Visitors´ Information Center (MUVIC). Village tour and cultural show performed by Chepang and Magar.

Day 06: Shaktikhor Subtu Siddi Majhbang : Trekking from Shaktikhor Sinti. Visit the Sinti waterfall and caves. Trekking to Siddi Majhbang. Village tour and Chepang cultural experience at Siddhi and Majhbang.

Day 07: Majhbnag Chitram Majhbang / Siddi or Shaktikhor : Trekking t Chitram waterfall and then back to Majhbang or Siddi or Shaktikhor. Experiencing the Chepang culture, birdwatching, fishing, visiting Chepang village.

Day 08: Majhbang / Siddi Shaktikhor Sauraha or Kathmandu: Trekking back to Shaktikhor. Drive to Sauraha. or Drive to Kathmandu.

Day 10:  Drive to Kathmandu airport  and departure
