Trip Description

Everest base camp trek package  is the most popular and classic trekking trails in Nepal. The ultimate goal of this trekking is to fulfill the dream of reaching to the lap of the highest peaks in the world the base camp of the Mt. Everest. Many people from around the world have a dream to reach to the top of the highest peaks and set the record, if not reach to at least on the lap of the highest peak, therefore, why thousands of travelers make it to the Everest base camp every year. This trip starts and ends at Lukla, the airport just to the south of Everest National Park, these days. But the classic route to EBC trek  was starting from Jiri, by then the transportation (public bus) was available up to Jiri, instead of Jiri, now a day the trekking to Mt. Everest base camp starts from the place called Bhandar, the gateway to Solukhumbu. Mt. Everest (8,848 m), popularly known as ´Sagarmatha´ in Nepali and ´Chomolongma´ in Tibetan language, is the highest peaks in the world, located in the north east of the country. As mentioned above, the ultimate goals of this trip is to reach on the lap of the Mt. Everest (8,848 m) the highest peaks in the world and take snaps with the backdrop of Mt. Everest and range of other Himalayas located in the region, namely Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Amadablam , Mt. Pumori , Mt. Thamserku , Mt. Kantega among others.

Trekking to Everest base camp has been popular ever since duo New Zealand citizen Sir Edmund Hillary and Nepali citizen, Tenjing Norgey Sherpa made successful summit to the peak back in 1953. Every year thousands of travelers from different parts of the world come here in Nepal to make it to the Everest base camp. Many people around the world make their ultimate dream to reach to the top, if not at least at the base camp of this highest peak, the Mt. Everest. Moreover, the Everest base camp trekking is popular because, the trekkers will not only have adventure of hiking from lower altitude to the highest point so earth through well developed trekking trails alongside of beautiful settlements of legendry Sherpa ethnic group. But, also explore the scenic view of the majestic mountains situated at the Khumbu region, incredible landscapes covered with snow, picturesque trails, Buddhist monasteries, flora and fauna, diverse unique culture, tradition of the various ethnic groups including of Sherpa, Rai among others. These features are explicit enough why trekking to Everest base camp trekking is one of the most demanded and popular among the Thin Air Adventure team in Nepal.

Everest base camp trek begins with a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the airport situated at the south of Everest National Park and then continues to Phakdin along Dudh Koshi valley and then heads up to Namche Bazar, where you will have time for acclimatization and once you are ready, then you will continue trekking to Everest base camp and after exploring all around and fulfilling of your ultimate dream, you will return back to Lukla following the same route and then fly back to Kathmandu.

 

 

Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuwan International airport, Kathmandu, Pick up from airport on private car or tourist coach and transfer to Hotel, after some hours of rest and official formlities you have some time to visit local market and streets of Thamel(Popular Tourist hub of Kathmandu) three star level accommodation with B/B plan.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Phakding About 45 min Kathmandu Lukla flight, we land on Lukla airport which is situated at altitude of 2840m. Breakfast in Lukla and 4hrs trek to Phakding at 2610m. The trail is gentle descends first up to Thado Koshi then gradual climb up to the first camp site via Dudh koshi river bank.

Day 03: Phakding to Namche bazaar commercial town of Khumbu region inherited by Sherpa (Himalayan People), Namche bazaar (3430m) is referred as Gate way to Mt. Everest. The day includes 4 5 hours of walking. After first hour of hiking to cross the Dhud Koshi River, you can see Mt. Thamserku (6608m). Along this trail are rhododendron forests, magnolias and giant firs. Sagarmatha National Park begins from Monjo village at situated at 2840m. This is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1979.

 Day 04: Acclimatization day in Namche bazaar before proceeding further. Acclimatization is a important while on high altitude. Morning hike  to Everest view point about two and half hrs  from there you will have first glimpse of Mt. Everest and stunning views of other mountains Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Khantenga, Thamserku and many other snow capped peaks. In Namche you will get a chance to experience Sherpa´s cultures and traditions overnight at Namchhe.

Day 05: Namche  to Tengboche  After having breakfast at Namche Bazar 4 5 hours trek starts via gentle ridge walk of the town and descent to the Dhudh Koshi River at Phunkithanka, after crossing the bridge from there the trail assents up to the Tengboche(3867m). Tengboche is the largest and most famous monastery in the Everest region. Great view of Everest(8848m), Ama Dablam(6865m), Khantega(6187m), Lhotse(8501m) and many  of other peaks.

Day 06:  Tengboche to Dingboche Trek to Dingboche at 4410m which will take 5 hours. Descending from the Tengboche Monastery the trail follows through the Rhododendron forest with sloppy steps to Deboche. Further ahead crossing Imja Khola Bridge and trail goes gradual climb up to next Sherpa village Pangboche at 3930m. This village has Oldest Monastery of the Khumbu region, you may get some time to explore this monastery after that lunch at Somare and you will be at Dingboche Village before dark for the overnight at Dingboche.

Day 07: Dingbochhe to Lobuje After taking breakfast trek to Lobuje situated at altitude of 4910m through huge barrier accompanied by magnificent view of great Himalayas. After that trail ascends until you reach Thugla pass. And the trail drops to moraine of Khumbu glacier and continue towards Lobuje. The day journey ends after 5 hours of trekking.

Day 08: Lobuje to t Gorakhshep Trek towards Gorakhshep (5160m) which takes 3 to 4 hours, after having lunch you can hike to EBC, about 3 hours of gentle walking through Khumbu glacier valley and back to Gorakhshep.

Day 09: Gorakhshep to Pheruche Morning hike to Kalapatthar 5545m see sunrise view over high mountain Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Ama dabalam, Pumari and many other snow capped peaks. Back to Gorashshep after Breakfast trek back same route to till Thugla trek down valley to Pheruche (4310m) Overnight at Pheruche.

Day 10: Pheruche to Tengboche Trek back to Tengboche (3867m) via Pangboche Village it takes 4 hours. You will enjoy every moments of trip specially while returning the trip is less stressful and you get time to feel the landscapes.

Day 11: Ascend from Tengboche to Namche bazaar (3430m) which takes 4 hours of walking. For other information see itinerary Day 06. You will get time to rest, buy souvenirs, explore around town of Namche bazaar.

Day 12: Namche to Phakding Trek back to Phakding it is an easy, downhill trail that crosses the Dudh Koshi River many times. Forests of Rhododendron, firs, pines, etc are along the trails. The trail is easy and interesting because of the streams, forests and high suspension bridges. It takes 5 hours.

Day 13: Phakding  to Lukla After having breakfast trek back to last point of this trek, Lukla from where this trek started by walking for 3 4 hours. Have a lunch and rest at tea house lodge or free personal time. You can also explore around Lukla and see the culture traditions of Sherpa for last time.

Day 14: Lukla to Kathmandu Morning flight to Kathmandu. Pick up from Domestic airport by private or tourist vehicle and transfer to Hotel. Day is free for your personal activities or explore around Thamel.

Day 15: Guided tour around Kathmandu Valley including places listed on world heritage site. Places include Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu durbar square, swayambhu, Boudha stupa etc. This day sightseeing tour will take you to visit all the major historical, cultural monuments and sites of Kathmandu valley. After finished sightseeing back to Hotel with B/B Plan.

Day 16: Trip ends transfer to international airport or you are free for your other programs
